Hi All, I'm trying to plan my visit to Morocco. I'll be in Casablanca on 8 Jun and depart Casablance 25 Jun.
I plan on renting a car for the duration.
What I'm looking for is help on a possible itineary, I'm not adverse to driving to maximize my exposure to Morocco. What I would like is a list of Do Not Miss, Shouldn't Miss, SHould skip, Must Skip.
My previous post's response said that tring to see all was to ambitious.
replace xx with rr to email directly
thanks for your help.

Renting a car can get quite expensive, especially that you'll want to spend several days in places where you won't be needing it.
In 2 weeks you'll have to pick a choose. You could easily spend 2 weeks in one place and see everything ther'e to do.
Here's my recommedation:
Skip Casablanca asap, you can do Rabat, Meknes, Fez by rail. You can rent a car in Fez to go to Moulay Idriss, Volubilis. You can then drive to Marrackesh, ouarzazat, ait ben heddou, draa valley to zagora, dades and todra gorges, you can then drive back to Fez via El Rachidia, or if you get a sturdy enough car through the high atlas.
There are many places you can stop or detour to on your way, it depends on how you're doing on time and what kind of things you like to see. Keep in mind that summers are very hot, particularly the further away from the mountains you get. The mountains might still have snow, the desert will hit 40C/104F in the shade ( add another 10/20 degrees in the sun).

Don't miss Marrakech Djemma el Fna (main square) in the evening. Don't miss travelling by public transport. There are many experiences you will miss if you always stick to your car! If you like wide open spaces make sure you have a walk in the High Atlas mountains. mail me if you want more info on this, pics etc Chris Roberts Gateshead UK
